10 of the Drumaness senior panel travelled to St Jude’s GAC in Dublin on Saturday to take part in the All Ireland Junior 7’s

After a fantastic effort the players who were unluckily beaten in the semi final, Drawn in Group 4 they beat Swanlinbar (Cavan), St Bridget’s (Dublin) and Europe with the only defeat in the group stages at the hands of group winners St Jude’s B (Dublin). They qualified from the group as runners up.

Next up in the quarter final was Caragh from Kildare. The players had a great result wining on a scoreline 3-5 to 1-3. In the semi-final they were drawn against St Jude’s B again. Leading by a point with less than 1 minute to go the referee awarded a very dubious penalty to the host club, which was converted and resulted in the team missing out on a place in the All-Ireland final by the narrowest of margins.

Whilst praise goes to all 10 players who competed so well and done their club proud special praise must go to Willie Megoran who had a superb tournament and was very close to winning player of the tournament

A big thank you to all the supporters who travelled to Dublin to support the team
